  • Catching Up On Birthdays' Past...

Tonight, we celebrated JD's bday! He's been 8 for several months now, but we hadn't gotten the chance to give him his gift. He chose ChuckE's, with his family. Kate, Steve & I met them with cupcakes, for a fun night of token burning and pizza. Kate is getting to be the perfect age for nights like tonight...she bounced from one thing to the next...no fear!!

    'Siah...

Jake & JD shooting hoops and playing skeeball...

This pony has a little more kick than the grocery store penny pony...(:

Kate's favorite ride of the night, she went back to it about a dozen times. Aunt Nik asked her who was riding with her, and she said "BARNEY!!!" Steve & I have no idea how she knew that, we're a Barney-free house, she's never seen him with us. (:

Finally big enough to crawl through the play tubes!!!

And then ChuckE came out!!!!!!!!!!!! She was so in love!!!! After hugging him and shaking his hands, she followed him around like a little shadow, until he disappeared in the back. It was like the Pied Piper.

    Playing games with Daddy...

We told her it was time to go, and she ran to the mechanical ChuckE, and hung on for dear life...
over and over..."I don't want to...I don't want to..." Thankfully, we got her out without a melt down. (: We told her she'd be coming back in a few weeks with some of her friends. (:

  • Polka Dots & Pink Poodle Par-ty!!!

Where o' where has my baby gone?!?!? I truly can't believe she's 2 today. I can't call her my baby girl anymore. :[

Kate has been so excited all week for her party. It's been so sweet as she talked about who was going to be there, and that we were going to have cake, gu-ckies (duckies) and balloons. Last night, she even slept with her book "Where Is Baby's Birthday Cake?" And when I went in to get her this morning and wished her a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!, she beamed, and pulled out the book to read. (: If you ask her how old she is, she'll say 2, and hold up a random number of fingers. Even though she's a little under the weather due to teething, she had a blast at her party tonight.

    Hope you enjoy the pics...

And Pin The Tail On The Donkey...

I blew the donkey up last week, and Kate has been playing with him, alot...Donkey has even slept in her bed a few times...she wasn't so sure that everyone should be sticking things to him...here's a minor melt down...

Kate opening her first present, her sweet cousin Josiah has been making her gifts all week long! He was SOOO excited for her to open his gift, she opened it first. He made her an adorable book of pictures of Kate.

Here's one of them, in all of them, Kate has pigtails sticking straight out of her head--it's the cutest thing!!!!

    Bunny got a ride too...(:

    The Birthday Daddy & Peanut...

She loves it when we sing Happy Birthday, and she thought blowing out the candles was big stuff. (:

And the Duck Pool, which provided the little girls with alot of entertainment tonight...

And here's the Birthday Girl, partied out... (:

Thanks to everyone for celebrating this precious gift with us!!!! And a big thanks to our moms, dads, and sisters for all of their help pulling it all together.

  • SKaterbug!!!!!!!! (:

I entered a time warp tonight! It was crazy! I grew up going to school and church skating parties, these nights were always much anticipated, and included: couples skate, shoot the duck, racing--yes, I still have the scar on my chin from falling during this, and busting it open--backwards skate, etc...it also meant wearing my treasured white skates with the giant pink pom poms, and buying a slushee. So many fond memories! The rink closed a few years ago, so these parties became another great 80s memory...until tonight! The rink opened back up! There was a GREAT turn out, and everyone from young to old had fun hanging out. Poor Kate is busting in some seriously huge teeth, so she wasn't feeling her finest, and she was leaking from her nose and mouth, but she still managed to enjoy a number of laps around the rink. (: Added to the fun, all 4 of her grandparents and Auntie Val were there too!!

  • Kate's 23rders Ornament

Chloe's Mom suggested an ornament exchange among our China travel group, we sign up each year, and have the option to continue until the girls are 18, at which time they'll have 17 special ornaments from their China travelmates. I think this is such a neat idea!! This year, Kate's ornament went off to Texas, and she received one from Miss D, in Minnesota. Here's a pic of Kate's first one:

It's hard to tell, but it's got lots of sparkley glitter on it. Kate is so proud of it. When she's home during the day, she listens for the mail truck, so that she can wave to the mail lady; imagine her surprise when the mail lady drove up to the house, and brought Kate her very own package!!!! She carried the little Chinese take out box and Miss D's note and picture around for days. We wouldn't let her carry around the bear, and had to put it high enough up on the tree that she couldn't reach it, to protect it. (:

Thanks so much Miss D!!!!!! (And Miss D's Mommy too!)
